Our temperate climate typically ranges between 45° to 75° F. If you're here more than three days, you'll likely experience some rain, so come prepared. The weather in Southeast Alaska never gets the best of us though - with our ability to fish both salt and freshwater, Boardwalk has rarely experienced a day where anglers couldn't fish.
Bring comfortable clothes for layering to adjust to variable conditions. Backpack and dry bags are ideal for day trips to store gear and extra clothes. Duffle bags are preferred over hard cases, since they're easier to transport. While dining is gourmet, casual clothing is appropriate for dinner.
You may have some favorite gear that you can't do without; but, remember, Boardwalk Lodge will completely outfit you. We provide Grundens raincoats, rain pants and rain boots, as well as freshwater and saltwater fishing gear and bait. This includes Orvis waders, wading boots, one- and two-handed fly rods, spin-casting rods, and reels. Your guide will have all the equipment for a successful day on the water.
Laundry service is free of charge at the Lodge, so there's no need to overpack.
(Our Gift Shop carries a number of essentials and sundries for purchase.)
