Jeff graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute and has earned many stripes at numerous travel destinations, including Grand Canyon, Park City resorts and Deer Valley resorts to name a few. Jeff is currently living his dream working at one of Alaska’s finest fishing lodges.

Jeff loves fly fishing for salmon and trout, the out of doors, music and, of course, good food! He enjoys meeting new people and playing an integral role at making their stay at Boardwalk Lodge the trip of a lifetime.

Julia Carlson

Dining Hostess and Chef’s Assistant
In 1978, Julia toured Alaska with a folk band, fell in love with the country and the people and decided to stay. Since then, she has become a full-fledged Alaskan, and even lives in a float house, like many native Alaskans. “Alaska changes people,” she says, “It lures them in, compels them to slow down, and helps them to appreciate life more.”

Julia loves the daily interactions with her guests. “It’s wonderful to see the sparkle in their eyes when they see the incredible beauty here and begin to get a sense of everything that Alaska has to offer,” she remarks. “They remind me of what I experienced 25 years ago.”

Ashlee has lived in the upper Northwest most of her life. As a free-spirited server, one of her best qualities is her good-natured hospitality. She loves making people smile. Aside from her guest interaction, Ashlee absolutely loves her commute — not every job lets you ride your jet ski to work and walk the lodge’s scenic boardwalk each day!
